British passport holders require a visa to enter Sri Lanka. A 30 day tourist visa is available free of charge on arrival in Sri Lanka. All other types of visa must be obtained through the Sri Lankan High Commission in London. British nationals working, including volunteer work, or living in Sri Lanka without the relevant visa face deportation, imprisonment or a fine.

Your passport should be valid for a minimum of six months and at least two blank pages.
